Will This Fork Really Happen?

I don't know and I won't vouch for it. We will have to wait and see.

How Can I Prepare For An Airdrop Of CDY?

Let's suppose that the fork is legit. The best way to prepare for it is to:

• hold BCH in a wallet under your control at block no. 51266 of the Bitcoin Cash blockchain; we are currently at block no. 512365
• with under your control I mean that you hold the private key to the wallet
  or
• trust that one of the exchanges will recognise the fork and give you the CDY; at the time CoinEx is listed as such.

After the fork you will need a CDY wallet to claim your coins and possibly transfer them to exchanges.

Local wallet option is more secure and also more cumbersome. The choice is yours.

What Have I Done?

I transferred all BCH in my possession (it's not much) from Bitstamp to Ledger Nano S^{(referral link)} hardware wallet. I wanted to do this anyway so I took this opportunity.

It is a very good idea to use a hardware wallet like Nano. I do recommend it.
