Is It Safe To Invest In Bitcoin Or Is It Just A Bubble?

“Safe Investments” are generally defined as investments where the investor has minimal risks. The rate of return is near constant and there is little to no market volatility.

Some of the safe investments (according to google) is listed below.

Bank Savings.
A savings account at your bank or credit union is low risk.
Certificates of Deposit (CDs)
Treasury Securities.
Money Market Accounts
Stable Value Funds
Fixed Annuities.
Immediate Annuities.
Now coming to Bitcoin. It fulfils every property that money should have; but it has a lot of problems associated with it. Ignoring the technical terms and going into economic sense the biggest problem is wide adoption of it as an “medium of excahnge”. It was envisoned as such but now it’s mainly a “store of value”.

No we have established what Bitcoin is. However, it does not fulfil the properties of a safe investment in it’s present form. It’s true that the monetary value has increased by a thousand fold, but it’s still a very risky asset and prone to severe market movements. A drop of 30% in a day or a rise of 20% in a day is a common occurence.

For some people it’s just another day. For a cautious investor it’s a mini heart attack. Decide your risk profile and then invest.

If you want to play it safe, Bitcoin is not the thing you should be investing in as of date.

EDIT: I had missed the link which was there in the comments. There was a similar website called Bitsolid (https://bitsolid.io/) which claimed the same things the link posted is claiming. My best friend put in money in there are got it out before the crash. The website no longer exists. Just be careful when you are investing.
