France and Germany will make joint proposals for cryptocurrency regulations such as the Bitcoin during the G20 summit in March.
That reports news agency Reuters Thursday.
It would be a joint analysis of the risks of the Bitcoin, in combination with proposals for regulations. It is not yet known what exactly the proposals are about.
"We have a responsibility to our citizens to explain and reduce the risks," said French finance minister Bruno Le Maire to reporters on Thursday.
The Bitcoin has a particularly volatile course. Recently, the digital currency was worth $ 20,000, but on Wednesday the price fell below $ 10,000.
