People's opinion
When researching coins and ICO's many people will resort to forums, discussion boards, chat groups etc for information and opinions. There are many people around ready to give their view around recent events, positive or negative. But how is this opinion formed? Why would it matter more than somebody else's? Does this person have a technical background? Maybe they have a business background. Maybe they are just a basic soccer mom. Does it actually matter who they are or do?
Yes it does !
This sounds dumb but I have seen sooo many people fail to grasp this basic concept. When searching for opinions you have to look for credible opinions. Look for people with experience in their field when you are discussing a certain event or topic. When there is FUD around some recent technical issue in the crypto world you should try look for technical opinions of developers or other people with credible technical background. Don't just believe a random Reddit comment on some post.
Look for credible and valid information and opinions.
People's hidden agendas
Even when you have a bunch of opinions that might actually matter we still have to be weary. Some people could be biased or straight up lying or worse ! They could by hiding some sort of inside information. Every person making content has some sort of hidden agenda, long or short.
Think critically and form your own opinions.
Hope you enjoyed this little wake up call. Some people might need it!
