How I bought my firs bitcoin… Well not a whole bitcoin but 0.1.

There are a lot of resources how to buy cryptocurrencies, I will just cover my experience buying bitcoin and ethereum classic.
First step:
Understand that it could be a risky investment and you need to set your limitations. I decided to not to go over 10% of my investment money, and will keep it this way at least for now.
Second step:
I would recommend to create a bank account just for cryptocurrencies related transactions. When you register an account with a cryptocurrency exchange you will have to provide bank account information, like routing number and account number, I didn’t feel comfortable to leave my primary account information. You need to leave bank account information so you can deposit “real” currency, like US dollars and to withdraw the money from exchange.
Third step:
Register an account with an exchange. There are many exchanges and you can do your own research which is better, for example https://www.bestbitcoinexchange.io/ covers 40 exchanges and their ratings. For bitcoin purchases I am using Gemini exchange (https://gemini.com/),this exchange sound pretty legit, especially with latest news where they went into agreement with CBOE to provide bitcoin market data. You can read about it here: https://goo.gl/FvuEgF
I have second account with Poloniex exchange (https://poloniex.com/), poloniex will allow you to trade only between crypto currencies, you will also be able to deposit and withdraw cryptocurrencies exclusively. It’s a little drawback but list of the currencies you can trade in poloniex is truly impressive. I usually buy bitcoin using Gemini account and then send bitcoins to poloniex and buy whatever cryptocurrency I want to buy.
Just to note. You will have to provide your SSN and prof of residency, along with that your address and bank account.

I hope this information will help you to start trading and make some $$.
