Privacy and security is the focus of many and top of the list in our new digital age and economy. Danah Boyd says the balance of forces have shifted in the networked age. People are now “public by default and private by effort”

Social media knows all about us... information we hand over willingly yet not knowing the implications. However, all this info is a goldmine for Marketers and Companies looking for their perfect customer. Interestingly enough, younger people limit the information about them online as they are more focused on their networked privacy than older people.

Hacking … nothing new but Cybercrime is increasing. Banks have been hacked for year yet we hardly ever hear about it. As cyrptocurrrency is a hot topic, news of hacking spreads like wild fire. But not only currency is at risk, there are data breaches and Identity theft affecting millions US residents according to Vinny Lingham, CEO of Civic, a new blockchain start up focusing on the reduction of identity theft - this start up business is for the USA only.

We need to know that it is our responsibility to take steps to protect ourselves from cybercrime and there are ways to keep yourself and your wealth safe and secure.

Cryptocurrencies and bitcoin could be part of a successful effort to reclaim our privacy and security!
