I was really excited to see that the Bitcoin fees to send a transmission through the blockchain were incredibly low this morning. Tt was 16 satoshis/byte to push something through in the next 3 blocks, where it can often extend into the hundreds of satoshis per byte for this level of speed. This is a nice development but I think it just has more to do with people giving Bitcoin a bit of a break after its last bull run over the last few weeks. It'll be back up but to see a transaction go through for this low a fee reminds me of when I got into the space in 2014 and sending transmissions through the blockchain was comparatively effortless.
For those that are committed and invested in the success of Bitcoin, it really is imperative that the Lightning Network kickoff a higher level of adoption. Only through a Bitcoin Cash ABC type transmission fee through the blockchain costing virtually nothing can we see a high probability of Bitcoin leading the way. While some analysts are saying that Bitcoin will leave other all coins in the dust, I see too much potential with other altcoins and their many use cases that are exceptionally promising. Plus having a cost of virtually nothing to submit a transmission through the blockchain is the way it should be!
