A few days ago, i powered up my Trezor wallet and there was a message saying that i had the option to move my "Legacy" account to the newly supported Segwit account. So, i did the transfer, which incidentally cost me over $8USD. The reason why Trezor did not do it automatically is that they don't have access to my private keys.
Today, i transfered .2 BTC to the Bitrrex exchange to buy some Alt Coins and the transaction fee was only $1.30. I'm very happy that the fees are now lower, but they need to go down even more. If Bitcoin (or should i say) when Bitcoin goes mainstream and that the majority of businesses start accepting it, banks and financial institutions (especially central banks) will be out of business or soon to be to say the least.
Bitcoin is really changing the world. We're finally on our way to defeat the greedy banksters and the so called "elites" that are making our lives so difficult most of the time. This financial revolution is really scary for the bankers and that's a good thing.
I'm spreading the word in my own community (local town) and since Bitcoin has now hit the mainstream news on TV, it's easier for me to explain what Bitcoin really is.
Cheers everyone!
Good work and a good post. I am trying to savy people up around me and it's a hard task. But hey, everyone loves a trier. I often just convey the private and public key essentials. Sooner or later, (it always seems sooner), bitcoin will meet them face to face and so if they have the first principle correct they have some hope.
