Come to think of it, it's kind of nice he's not your regular self-promoting Hollywood schmuck. I guess he's never tried to sell himself as something he's not.

I think he's genuine, and like Clint Eastwood, came to accept his range is more limited than his taste. Keanu is a deeper person than he is capable of playing on screen.

He was exactly the wrong choice for John Constantine. But, it's also obvious that Keanu has great taste in fiction/art/etc.. and was probably a fan of the character. He was a hot property and had his pick of projects, but Constantine he was most certainly not. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, I'm no purist, but it didn't work.

His recent choices have been really interesting.
