I Did 2 Coinbase Transfers First Took 42 Hours Second Took 10 Minutes

Hey guys, I know with August 1 upon us and with the announcement Coinbase would not be supporting Bitcoin Cash, there's been a mad dash for people to get their Bitcoin off Coinbase.

Coinbase gave us fair warning about this and even told us don't wait til the last minute as there will probably be some congestion and some transfers may not go through in time.

I started removing some coins from Coinbase about a week ago in smaller quantities and sending it to my Trezor and an Electrum wallet. I wound up however getting lazy and saying "ah I'll finish up later".

Well later was a few days later and I initiated a transfer of just over 2 Bitcoins on Friday July 28, 2017 at about 6:00pm Central Time (Chicago Time). A few hours went by and I started getting nervous. When I woke up the next morning I said surely it must have gone through, nope. Later in the day I figured it's been 24 hours surely it's gone through...nope. It wound up taking over 42 hours for the transfer to go through.

I still had one coin and some change on Coinbase and was planning on leaving it there to trade with but at the last minute said what the heck I'm going to move it. I initiated the transfer last night July 30, 2017 at probably 9pm Central time. About 10 minutes later I got an e-mail confirming it had been sent.

Seems to be no rhyme or reason to how long Coinbase transfers are taking to go through. I forget the actual cutoff time for transfers from Coinbase, I believe it's today at 10am , however not sure what timezone that's based on.

Good to see you on here man. I'm trying to figure it out. Lol. Trying to learn more about Bitcoin as well.

want to be part of your group where we can support each other :)

Yeah i moved my coins off there a week ago and it was only about 20 mins till confirmation.

Not a fun situation. A run on the bank is right!
