I think this Bitcoin scaling controversy will be a big nothing to be forgotten 2 to 3 months from now. Everyone has invested so much in it to let it go down because of stubbornness. I do see Segwit 2X will prevail and from what i see it is not incompatible to BIP148.

I think people already discounted it becuase as of today Jun 24, Bitcoin is already going up
