You make excellent points. I would appreciate if you added the analysis for Litecoin. This one is confusing as it could piggy back with the Lightning Network or it could be replaced as not having enough differentiation.
One idea I heard a while back is for a coin to make forks go through a committee (such as bitcoin core dev team) before allowing forks. This would be against the norm as it makes part of the code not open source (would be my guess). I think it is a good idea to reduce multiple spam forks to dilute the main project.
