...BlackRock says John Varley resigns from board after fraud charge BlackRock (BLK) independent director John Varley has resigned from the company's board, effective immediately. Varley joined the board in 2009 following the company's acquisition of Barclays Global Investors. The move follows news that Barclays (BCS) and four former executives of the bank, including Varley, have been charged with fraud by the U.K.'s Serious Fraud Office.
