No, it happens. Bitcoin isn't crashing but it has retraced considerably.
Yes, your bitcoins are probably quite safe.

Thanks for your optimism. Im actually in Etherium these days but point well taken. Coinbase is down again as I write this. I think I would rather have an offline wallet backed up on some external hardrive as well as a secure server backup.

Im not ready to scream mtgox yet but strange timing on a weekday and during a 10% decline in overall marketcap when people would be cashing out.

Yes. Move to hardware based wallets. Any suggestions out there? Im using exodus now.

GDAX is up

Don't keep your BTC on the exchange. Set up a separate Bitcoin wallet and transfer your coins after you buy them or before you need to sell them. Hopefully it will come back, but Coinbase discontinued support for Canada so stopped using it. They are also using facial recognition, which I am apprehensive about. Thats one reason I chose not to take part in Humaniq.

Whats the safest wallet to use? Am worried about just using a pc-based wallet - what if my PC get's destroyed?

I use Blockchain and XAPO, and I also have heard that the Ledger Nano S is a really good hardware wallet.
