Some hours ago Bitcoin has rised up to US$ 5800, geting to a new all time high. Is there any fundamentals in the crypto ecosistem to justify this jump? In the latest hours, bitcoin exchange's volume in Bitfinex has been 15% above the average. At the begining of 2017 BTC started arround US$ 1000. This means it has had a gorw of 580%. This is rare for a finantial asset.
So, just to understand the value of a BTC today... for the same price we could buy 4 ounces of gold, 33 stocks of Facebook or a two weeks vacations in Miami at a 5 star hotel.
It is feasible that btc will keep going up. It's no easy to know the roof, but it seems to be some kind of colective agreement about US$ 10.000 beeing a rasonable price. The problem with abroupt price gains is that the corrections tend to be really strong.
Bitcoin may seem "expensive" now, but it was the same at US$ 1400 and US$ 3000. So, if you are going to buy Bitcoin at this price you must know you are asuming a high short term risk, given that sooner or latter there is going to be an important correction.
