I find the alts start rallying slightly the moment BTC seems "safe" for a while. Missed a few really good moves on that and now it feels too late to risk any entries as I agree with your sentiment here.
Then again, everyone is expecting a downleg... would be a perfect time to test the upper channel by some bold bulls.
