The problem with Ethereum as I see it currently is that there are so many competitors coming into the market who seem to all have a better product and are currently much cheaper to own. I wonder what the prospects in 1-3 years for Ethereum are when other competitors such as Antshares/NEO, Stratis, EOS, IOTA, and such all advance further.

The competitors you mentioned are not real competitors. Look at the market cap difference. And 1-3 years later, do you think ethereum will remain without changes while other coins are developing?
The market cap you point out is exactly why the other competitors are so interesting. They offer similar technology, but have a lot more room to grow. Ethereum needs about 20 billion higher market cap in order for you to profit 100%, but a smaller competitor could offer you 300% or more even if it grew by only 1 billion.
I still think Ethereum will atleast double possible triple or quadruple but I don't think it will hold it's position for forever.
It is true that competitors' prices are low and there is a lot room to grow. But the market is smarter than you think, so there are reasons for lower prices.
