Could Ripple Become Worthless?

Why?

So I was talking to my friend today and we were discussing cryptocurrencies, something interesting that came up was Ripple. He said that banks are adopting Ripple's type of technology but not the token. Because of this he thinks that the value of Ripple could decline to zero pretty quickly in the future.

I think he meant aways down the road once blockchain is more widely used, however it is an interesting thought..I think that if enough banks created their own Ripple like tech they would be able to cut down fees even more for themselves so right there is an immediate incentive.

Other Ideas

However, I think all it's gonna take for Ripple to skyrocket past the $1 mark is one major U.S or European bank to use their services. This is something I could see happening very soon as well with all the major attention blockchain has got this week, just look at consensus.

For example, the EEA's growth after consensus, I think it was something like 80 major companies are joining Ethereum after this week. J.P Morgan has adopted Zcash and now its price is well over $200 per ZEC. It could be a small amount of time before something like this happens to Ripple.

Another big move is that Fidelity will be providing cryptocurrency services to customers by allowing them to see their Coinbase accounts on their online account...this is gonna boost crypto's as a whole even more.

Let me know what you think!

i think every crypto can worth nothing. as long ripple company stay alive, ripple always going to worth something. But somehow company goes down, ripple oculd worth nothing.

Ripple is one that I just don't grok.

Crypto should be decentralized. Ripple is highly centralized.

Proof of work and even proof of stake make a lot of sense. Ripple's Presto! Here's currency!" approach makes no sense.

Crypto avoids the banking system. Ripple is all about banks.

Die, Ripple, die.

Same idea for stellar.

Interesting blog. Nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks like this. Investing in the cryptospace might come with a high risk but honestly I don't believe the risk is that high for the people who are daring to HOLD their coins for long. This is quite an interesting website I found: https://www.coincheckup.com I'm using this site that gives in depth reports on every tradable cryto in the market. On: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/Ripple#analysis To watch Ripple Investment research.
