As a review blogger, I usually receive pitches through email and in the past few weeks, I've started receiving pitches for different cryptocurrencies and offers of interviews with "cryptocurrency experts." What makes that unusual is that my blog is a mainstream lifestyle and review blog. We've never covered anything related to Bitcoin or cryptocurrency. While most here know the advantages and potential that cryptocurrency offers, it's only recently that "mainstream media" has started talking about Bitcoin and it seems "mainstream bloggers" are becoming a new way for coins to promote their business. I can't help but wonder whether bloggers that aren't as familiar with the Fintech world are prepared.
There are a lot of brilliant blockchain-based ventures and coins in development that have the potential to help bloggers and content creators really earn money for their valuable time. In addition to sites like Steemit, there are future ways for bloggers to make money from their current blogs through advertising, such as AdEx.
In addition, I've seen some pitches where companies are paying for partnerships in Bitcoin. There's a lot of "buzz" about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, but not a lot of basic education for bloggers who are starting to see crypto-based pitches.
