RE: Coinspiracy Theory: Bitcoin, Artificial Intelligence, and the CIA

I have to agree with you and appreciate you pointing out the obvious question. It's good to be skeptical and ready to see what needs to be seen. So much of our conditioning leads us to tie things we like to our emotions and rather than look at something as a tool to be used as needed and where and when to use it. Emotions do play into perceived value but they are a bad way to make decisions.

As far as the future value of bitcoin and the blockchain, regardless of it's ties. Much like the internet before it. It's an idea that has a life of it's own. It's here to stay and although it may be corrupted at some point... for now it's a tool with some distinct useful value in lieu of the alternatives.

Hey Mike, Yes, I've always believed that our tools, from harnessing fire to atomic energy, are neutral, and dependent upon the intent with which we use them. I wrote a bit about that in Blockchain: Ultimate Boon or Bondage?. Still, I worry that absorbing ourselves more and more into the digital, virtual world, we risk losing a part of what makes us human. It's a deep subject, for sure.
