i really like verge. it's one of the coins that has qualities of being real cash (private nontraceable, fungible). and i like the argument against the POS system which centralizes wealth (i.e. people with more money will have more money because of staking.)

In POW, everyone has to earn it. I'm not sure if it's ASIC resistant tho. This is probably the reasons why VERTCOIN is popular - not sure if it's POW tho
