The Bitcoin record hunt continues: The oldest and most important digital currency broke the $30,000 mark for the first time on Saturday - and climbed to $33,099.
Bitcoin had only reached 20,000 dollars on 16 December. Over the entire year 2020, it gained more than 300 percent in value.
Most recently, experts had estimated the market capitalisation at around 550 billion dollars, according to the news agency dpa.
The reasons for the current surge in bitcoin are controversial. The argument repeatedly put forward is that the digital currency has recently become more the focus of large investors. The announcement by the payment service Paypal to enable its customers to pay with Bitcoins could also play a role.
Experts also warn against the extreme price fluctuations of bitcoin. Three years ago, for example, the price of the digital currency dropped by about 70 percent.
I think Bitcoin will not go that high.
I also thin bitcoin will drop in few days
