I've been playing the BTC/USD pair at WEX, increasing my coins during this bearish retraction.
I watched a six-hour video by @philakonecrypto the night before last night, and have been trading yesterday and today, incorporating his signals with @haejin's, as well as my own.
First trade I picked up an additional 22% coins: sold around $11,500 and bought back at $10k, $9,750, $9,500, $9,250, and $9k -- I think they were equal ladders. I haven't done the math on the additional trades in terms of percentage gain; here are the raw(ish) numbers ("ish", because I'm not listing the amounts, only the price level sold and bought back at):
Sold at $9,050 and bought back at $8,750, $8,500 and $8,250.
Sold at $8,500, bought back at $7,500 and $7,250.
Sold at $7,200, bought back at $6,750 and $6,500. (Note that this could be seen as a "losing trade" in a sense -- above I bought at $7,250, and here I sold at $7,200. However, I'm tracking it against the next buy, not the previous one...)
Sold at $7k, and have ladders to buy back at $6,500 (hit it), the rest I'm waiting for: $6,250 (also hit!), $6k, $5,750, and $5,500.
If it reaches $5,500 and triggers all my ladders, I'll have increased by about 50% in two days of trading (I KNOW!!!). This is similar to the returns achieved in the above 6-hour video -- he took his account from $2,000 to $3,300 over the course of four days, a 65% gain.
Currently it's heading down and at $6,268 (at WEX). And, while typing this up, the $6,250 ladder struck (I heard a "chime" as the WEX tab was in the background -- I like that feature!), so there are three ladders remaining.
The best part about laddering? I have them set, and can go to bed and rest peacefully, and see what happened in the morning. Would that all trading was this easy! :) Now I'm thinking automation thoughts...
May your trading be profitable -- financially, spiritually, and emotionally.
Wow sounds like you're doing better than the Bitconnect trading bot... ha ha... but seriously it is the perfect storm for your skills!
LOL, agreed. I actually told a good friend "I could be the BitConnect bot" a few weeks ago! :) We're planning our next endeavor, and are considering a "quantum crypto fund" or something.
You're right, and my wife @countrylover has said several times these past couple days that she's so happy that I could find something that spoke to all my skills, and wasn't too much of a burden for my concussion symptoms.
And in fact, I think that continuing this practice is helping to heal my brain. Awesome two-fer! :)
I'm very happy to hear that!
That is great mate , i wish i had the courage like yours . My cryptos are stuck in the wallet , i am too afraid to buy or sell them for now . I heard about @philakonecrypto some time ago , i will go watch his videos . I will probably wait till Chinese Lunar new year Feb 14-16 to make my next move .
Yeah, it was unexpected! A follower mentioned @philakonecrypto positively, and I had seen either him or someone else mention him, on @haejin's blogs; so, decided to check him out, and his latest post at the time was the 6-hour video (I stopped at 4:44 as there were two sound tracks, so difficult to understand -- but what a lesson up to then!).
My plan had been like yours -- just wait until CNY in a couple weeks, but I'm glad I "taught I taw an opportunity"! :)
Seriously, 50% up in two days in a down market -- I'm feeling pretty confident about my skills. Which is somewhat a new feeling. Enjoy!
So how many videos did you watch , can you share the 6hr video link in reply ?
I'm watching all his tutorials, now. The first one I watched was the most recent one, #17, which is here: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@philakonecrypto/tutorial-17-scalping-6-hours-of-live-trading-growing-usd2-000-into-usd3-300-in-4-days
I am not a good trader so i will just Hodl . The fall in price of Bitcoin is no surprise really considering all the negative press that has surrounded cryptocurrancies since the beginning of the year. It is just a blip and I am sure it will start to regain its strength once all the drama has died down. People are worried and scared after what happened in Japan and then banks banning trading of cryptos in some places and not allowing you to buy it with credit cards etc.
It is a temporary setback and will soon be back on top strong again .
This is a bit more than a blip. It's a crash. This makes sense considering the huge November-December rally which inflated the price above what it should naturally be. This crash isn't quite a price correction, but the result of this crash will most likely be a correction above the floor and below where it was over December and January.
Someone with better analysis skills than I should form a strong estimate of where exactly the floor will be. If we know the floor we can make some estimates of where the price will be corrected to.
Besides of the TA, I think that people feelings will make BTC hit the 20k ATH in a reasonably short time of/when it survives all the FUD being spread right now.
Yeah it's like 2013/14 all over again. Except it seems to be happening much faster!
What I find really interesting is the Elliottician standard quote: "News will arrive to justify the price."
In this case I see several news items that do so: the ones you mentioned, and also the South Korean crackdown; BitConnect failing, and others being warned by Texas and other states; and China restricting citizen access to foreign exchanges -- I mostly trade on Binance (which is in China), and if they impose further restrictions, like preventing foreigners from accessing Chinese exchanges -- then I might lose access to coins, which would be really bad if I was in the middle of manually trading them.
I've submitted my documents to Binance and noticed today that the withdrawal limit was raised to 100 BTC, so I can now carry out my plan of keeping coins off exchanges -- albeit at a cost, which I liken to insurance, or hedging.
Regulation and restriction will solidify the legitimacy of crypto as a form of currency, as counter-intuitive as it sounds. A government banning something that people use signals that the government has recognised and acknowledged the threat of it. Similar to how China cannot acknowledge Taiwan as an independent region, governments generally cannot acknowledge cryptocurrency.
However, this does not apply to China solely due to the overbearing government presence in everyday life. The communist dictator holds a scary amount of power, especially after his most recent power grab. This power controls the culture and if the communist government does not like crypto, the Chinese people do not like crypto.
I agree with your assessment -- it rhymes with "if you're not taking flack, you're not over the target."
I liked this strategies, I think I will change my strategy of traiding towards ETH/USDT and BTC/USDT (USDT because I don't have USD in my platform Binance)
Yeah, I had to use WEX for those trades, although I do most trading at Binance like yourself.
I am not a decent broker so I will just Hodl . The fall in cost of Bitcoin is nothing unexpected truly considering all the negative press that has encompassed cryptocurrancies since the start of the year. It is only a blip and I am certain it will begin to recapture its quality once all the show has faded away
even i think that's the last point $5,500 is the bottom :)
I have ladders down to $5k, so "hoping" it hits them. :)
I feel I don't have enough time to do this, seems like it would take more time than expected, but maybe it is because I have not done it. Either way I enjoy seeing how you are doing!
You're right -- I have the "benefit" of being multiply concussed, and disabled as a result. This gives me more time to learn stuff. It also means I need to study for a longer duration, reading material multiple times, because of the forgetfulness. And of course, I wouldn't recommend concussions as a means to free one from the rat race, even if it seems to have "worked" for me.
Health > Wealth
Yeah sorry about all of that but at least you are utilizing your situation and from the looks of it making things work in your favor!
The decline followed reports that raised worries
about increased regulation in India and potential
price manipulation at a major exchange.
Fundstrat's Tom Lee, the only major Wall Street
strategist to issue formal price targets on bitcoin,
said two weeks ago that $9,000 is a "major low"
for bitcoin and "the biggest buying opportunity in
2018."
The $9,000 to $10,000 price range has been a
difficult one for bitcoin to break below since first
topping $10,000 in late November.
And, it's half that now! (Well, earlier today -- it's $7,474 right now, at WEX.)
Very logical strategy especially if you are buying using your winnings. As for calling the bottom, I din't even have an inkling of how to do this with any of the cryptos. They seem to work under a different set of rules than traditional assets.
When Bitcoin hits the floor it would be a good strategy to buy into some altcoins that are likely to increase. If you put money into an altcoin that will increase by a greater percentage than BTC will, you should be able to make some good profits. Bitcoin is obviously the most reliable thing to buy at the floor since it has the highest trade volume.
It might not be worth taking the chance that if BTC increases 5% that an altcoin will increase by ~10%, but it's certainly possible.
My exact thought, for some coins it's a 20% increase for a 10% increase on BTC, but you have to know when to exit since the tend to drop rather quickly once the top is reached.
I think that leting 50% on BTC and the rest in Alts is a smart move.
Duuuuude! now I wanna do a post about exit strategyes around this video.
Fucking lov it.
I'm replying with this one that has nothing to do with the subjet but I hope you enjoy it.
Yep, recognized it from the thumbnail, good song!
Put a picture of a bear for the second verse, "You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness" :)
Sadly, almost everyone I meet these days is "somebody that I used to know" -- due to the forgetfulness symptom of these concussions. But on the bright side, you do get a second chance to make a first impression! :D
"Now you're just currency that I used to know" :)
Or "Now you're just a token that I used to know." :)
Hey, the good thing about Alzheimer is that at least I dont have alzheimer :)
I know I'm in position to say this, but live life not being sorrow for what you forget, ever, be cheerfull for what you can remember and ppl that sorround you, live the moment and fuck the rest.
Really well done. Some great trades there.
Thanks!

Noted everything but the
I still haven't mastered this one yet xD
You know, I was wondering as the other day you told me your team have losed the game ( shit happens xD) Wich sport do you play? And most important, what happened that you lost an eye? must suck to lost peception of deepness in space, I know cause one of my handball friends lost the right eye on a motorbike accident 3 years ago and he's still dealing with that problem.
Oh, and do you only trade BTC or use the same system on altcoins?
Unfortunately I'm also recovering from concussions, and I don't remember the part about "my team lost the game"... :( (If you could link to the comment, it might spark a memory.)
I'm mostly blind on one side, from birth. The eyeball grew wrong; instead of being more "round" it ended up oblong, like a football, and protruded back towards the optic nerve, in fact punching through it (not literally; the optic nerve just never developed, because "something else" was there).
Note that I wouldn't have been able to describe the above to you if I hadn't had the first concussion! About a month after it, I was talking to my wife and looked to the left quickly, and then threw my glasses and held both hands over my eye, crying in pain. They did a 4-hour MRI and found blood being re-absorbed behind the eye. I had had surgery decades prior, and the concussion must have loosened it, such that moving my eye rapidly "broke" something. The pain was similar to the pain I had after the surgery, so I'm fairly certain that's what it was.
Since it's "from birth" I have no idea what "depth perception" feels like. For me, if parts of an image are blocking parts of another image, then I know the first image is in front of the second. And those "magic pictures" are just an exercise in frustration for me. When I was a child, someone gave me a book of optical illusions -- many of which, I could not experience! For instance, take an empty toilet paper roll (or paper towel), and look through it with one eye, while holding the palm of the other hand about six inches in front of your other eye. You will perceive a hole in your hand! I won't. And 3D movies are either all red, or all blue (depending on which lens the colors are in). We bought a 3D TV with newer special glasses, but I've never tried it because I know the experience will be "less than reality", for me.
And yeah, I was always chosen last for "depth perception games" -- i.e., baseball, football, basketball, hockey -- pretty much any team sport! But I did better on the Science League, and Math Team. :)
Fortunately though, I'm not the thing described in Revelation, as it's my right eye that has vision. :)
Holy DNA making a mistake :/ We should create a Crypto that focuses on solving Eye problems, although Your case might be harder since, as you said, no optical nerve was developed in the left eyeball, but I'm most secure that within the next 10 years problems like that will be solved in a 15 min operation and a not-so-expensive organic protesis.
Good luck with the rehab, and don't worry for being pick the last, in the games what matters is to be a goodd companion than a good player, a support player can learn to be momentousness to any team game, as Goal keeper I've learn that :)
LOL at re-reading my "Science League, and Math Team" after having earlier gone over a bunch of The Breakfast Club quotes to make sure I got a reference right. One of those quotes was John Bender talking about the clubs Brian Johnson said he was in (physics, math, and Latin):
Describes my high school years. :)
I like that, "goal keeper" -- I have a goal to purchase a house this year, and intend to keep it! :)
My wife needs both knees replaced, and we were going to do the surgery this year; fortunately, we've found a place that uses stem cells to help the body self-heal. Might be useful for the concussions as well -- and, there's a possibility that it could help my eye. Some patients in Florida had stem cells injected into their eyes, and went blind -- which I already mostly am in that eye, anyway, so it's less of a risk but still I get 5% or so of my world from that input.
So I don't want to be the guinea pig, for that experiment! But I think you're right -- decades ago a doctor told me, "It would take a dozen doctors their lifetimes to connect all the nerves so you could see" and perhaps someday soon I might be able to have my vision restored!
That'd be welcome. I really want to see a hole in my hand!! :)
Wait? Am I your wife? aahaha just kidding, but I WILL need some kind of reconstruction on both knees, I had anterior cruciate ligament rupture on both knees, one 10 years ago (Dancing a dude crash me and broke it, Fuck my life XD) and the other a year ago in Taekwondo, at least I complete the fight and got Silver medal in fight and Bronze in "Tul". Anyhow, I'm sure in a good 10-15years I'll need to replace something on the knees so I could keep up my stupid active life up to the 100! <2+1
Never give up!
Nice! Just read your intro, in which you mentioned the ligament as well. I'm red belt with black tip, in TKD, although haven't practiced it in many years, nor have I been stretching... :)
Seems like the stem cells might help your joints, as well. At first they were using aborted fetuses, and the cells had already differentiated, which was why the stem cell treatments ended up causing cancer.
The second stage was using the patient's own cells, either bone marrow (which is painful to extract!), or fat cells, which are then treated to turn back into stem cells. Only problem is, the cells divide at the rate of the age of the creature; in other words, cells from a 70-year-old aren't much help. They are some help -- but most issues require a lot of help in order to resolve.
So the third stage, is using umbilical cords and afterbirth from healthy children and healthy mothers. This is working extremely well, from the seminar we attended.
I'd much rather use my own cells, personally. There are potential rejection issues when taking on someone else's programming (DNA) -- not to mention the spiritual/demonic issues...
We're too old to have saved our umbilical cords though, which I recommend to anyone having a child these days.
If you need it, hope you can find something like this near you! Insurance won't pay for it, but the results may just be worth it. The doctor near us charges $4k for a single shot, $7.5k to do both knees.
Or We could start geting males pregnant, did you know that when a pregnant woman have any kind of accident the fetus sends steem cells to help the repair? How awsome would it be to have a prostatic fetus and trick it/him/he/boob (I always go with boob whenever i'm confused) into beliving such thing.
I'm not saying a fake fetus would be cheap, but it would be highly reusable!
Seriously, great post and thanks for share.
Just wonderful post man.
Thank you so much for share this post.
Very informative post
