With the recent trend of BTC airdrops, I had thought something like this would happen sooner or later. I did think it'd happen with a more well-known privacy coin like Monero or ZCash though.
What's interesting about this is that people seem to be buying up a bunch of ZCL just for the fork. Which tells me that ZCL will most likely dump hard immediately after the fork.
I personally don't think it's very productive to try and shoehorn the state of the BTC chain into a privacy-centric coin. It's clear that the current BTC "mainstream" does not care about private transactions. That's fine-- the privacy coins can establish themselves the same way Bitcoin did... by being the de-facto official currency of darknet trade.
What do you think?

Well, I personally think it does have long legs... Crypto's are all about the community and name... not so much anymore about the (newer) technology. With Bitcoin private people are now able to pay anonymously and I think this will become a HUGE deal specially when governments will start to regulate crypto's. As for dumping ZClassic after the fork, absolutely... people want the BitcoinPrivate, not so much the ZClassic.
