Wallet generator is the most popular website for creating most secure cold storage wallets called - paper wallets for loads of coins.
Currently when this issue of 1:1 copy of website was found the site itself is turned off https://walletgenerator.org/ (some people speak about ddos going on it)
So the developer verified that only secure website is https://walletgenerator.net/

The best way is to actually download the script, put it on computer than never been on internet or at least took off internet connection and then generate https://github.com/MichaelMure/WalletGenerator.net/archive/master.zip from here.
The fake copy of website was found just 8 hours ago, its possible it was running for over a month.
If you have generated paper wallets lately make sure you have used proper source or move coins ASAP.

Wow! If this site has been up for a month or longer I wonder how much they could have stolen. It's ironic too, because I just wrote recently about using a paper wallet generator, and yes the only safe way to do this is by downloading the source and using the generator offline. It's a shame for those that may have lost coins, and as the price of Bitcoin continues to increase I'm afraid we'll continue to see an increase in hacks and scams meant to steal Bitcoins.

Thanks, keeping to the safe side: consider a Trezor or Ledger Nano S but please pay attention - you can only have 4-5 wallets on this devices so if you have say 10 cryptocoins, you can't hold them all on that devices.

It's going to be a bumpy ride of "stolen Bitcoin" in the future - most people aren't tech savvy enough yet to generate offline wallets, use 2FA on exchanges etc...
