I can certainly understand why people may have panicked, but I think people who are experienced in investing in just about anything would see it as a good opportunity to buy.
It can be compared to events like the housing market crash. A lot of people rushed to sell as fast as they could, but the really smart investors knew it was a perfect opportunity to buy, buy, buy!

Yes I agree with you. I am fairly new only 3 weeks into the Crypto's and I must say that it's sharp gains were going to be meet with sharp losses but I did not see a 500+ lose. Oh well as scary as it was it has levelled off for how I hope and let's hope the gains start back again. DR

Hey @kingscrown, it seems to me that there will be a demand for quality cryptocurrencies into the future for quite some time. I don't really see things leveling out because your average consumer doesn't understand blockchain currencies (not yet at least...)
Is there any currency you feel is particularly different from the rest in terms of ease of use and value? I don't have a lot to invest but I want to take a long-term investing approach and any tips help!

Everybody who were scared of yesterday and sold should not trade those markets. It is same as in forex. And with margin trading we will probably see dips like this more than ever.

Thanks for the information and insight! It is good we've brought a market face to the inherent problems that face Crypto- how to scale exchanges to meet the demand of new money. With Coinbase, Kraken, Changelly and ShapeShift all going down due to unprecedented new money demand (and exorbitant Visa/MasterCard fees), we may see this correction again as more countries join Japan in moving Bitcoin to legal currency status. If the number of steps required to move fiat in to crypto does not decrease, that gap must be bridged by some sort of do-it-for-you fiduciary to spread the demand among the exchange players.
