A lot of people recently have been complaining about the fact that they have to spend so much money in fee's for their transaction to be confirmed in a reasonable amount of time. What many need to realise is that Bitcoin fee's are not dependant on the amount you are sending but on the size of the transaction. This will work out to be a good thing in the long run but currently does appear to be a problem for many people.
The reason why fee's not being dependant on the amount you are sending is a good thing is because when we start to use payment channels in the Lightning Network we will be able to open up large payment channels and not have to pay x% of that in mining fee's. Large payment channels will be incentivised because more Bitcoin can be transacted across them without having huge mining fee's relative to the amount you are sending.
Let me know what your opinion is and let me know if I am wrong! :D
