Bitcoin.com to launch its own exchange?

in #bitcoin6 years ago

Bitcoin.com says they are on the verge of launching their own cryptocurrency exchange.

The CEO of bitcoin.com, Roger Ver, says they will either be purchasing or building their own cryptocurrency exchange in the very near future.

Bitcoin.com currently services both bitcoin and bitcoin cash, while also providing crypto related news items:

According to Ver, he thinks with an exchange added to the site, they will get thousands, possibly even tens of thousands of new users visiting the site every single day.

You may recall hearing the name Roger Ver a lot in the news over the past year or so...

He originally was an early adopter and investor in bitcoin but has since stopped supporting it in favor of bitcoin cash, which according to him is the "true bitcoin".

He has been at the center of the feud between bitcoin and bitcoin cash, in fact one might say he has been one of the biggest agitators of the feud.

It is fine if he thinks one cryptocurrency is better than another, but there is no reason to bash the other ones which is exactly the approach he has taken any chance he gets.

My thoughts have always been that if you actually have the better mouse trap, eventually the rest will take care of itself, no need to sling mud at the others.

Real reason he is creating the exchange...

It's all about bitcoin cash.

Creating a cryptocurrency exchange on bitcoin.com will be a major way that Ver feels he can get people to start adopting bitcoin cash the way that they have bitcoin.

He will price every crypto on the exchange in terms of bitcoin cash, instead of bitcoin, like every other crypto exchange does.

The fact that he continues to operate a website called bitcoin.com, while bashing bitcoin publicly every chance he gets is pretty ridiculous in my opinion, but that is just me.

Either way though, if this helps bring more people into crypto as they search for bitcoin.com in google, I am all for it.

Lets just keep the infighting to a minimum ok Rog?

Can't we all just get along?!

Great info 👍

Thanks corndog!

he's a passionate guy.. i like the way he think and so on, despite i dont like he always a bad way for debate.. like your info btw

Yea, he always bashes bitcoin now every chance he gets. Makes him look petty.

Good article jr,

Roger Ver is an oportunistic douche... but i agree, if another exchange helps open up the market even more then the “elected” winner will emerge.

Bitcoin is dead. Long live bitcoin.

👊😎

Haha nicely put. Every time I see him lately he looks more and more petty. Hopefully he helps bring more people in though.

agree

I think he got bored and wasn't courageous enough to take the plunge into anything that didn't have "bitcoin" in the title. :)

Lol...exactly!

Roger Ver will stop at nothing to make sure new crypto investors are confused and invest in b-cash! While I don’t agree with the ethics of it I still think it’s pretty smart picking up the bitcoin domain and bitcoin social media handles the brand association is so strong people use crypto and bitcoin interchangeably and many new investors will simply just assume they getting BTC! Also many exchanges like kucoin have removed BCH pairings so his exchange will offer a lot of trading pairs not available and could be worth it for a day trader to take advantage! Interesting moves indeed

Some may call it smart, others may call it scammy. I actually tend to think it is pretty scammy. If the only way you can get people to buy your coin is by tricking them into thinking they are buying something else, there is something wrong...

Good point!

Its actually not a bad idea... Bitcoin Cash works fairly well as a exchange trading pair as it is quickly and has low transaction fees. Ether has lost that viability due to network congestion increasing costs and bitcoin could be somewhat slow. Litecoin is a great alternative as well.

Those are very good points. I don't mind him using bitcoin cash as his trading pair, I just wish he would stop trying to trick people into buying bitcoin cash when they think they are buying bitcoin.

Coinex is kind of theirs :)

Haha yes, pretty much.

superb information bro, see you on the top

Interesting idea and he might be on to something, give it a chance let's not bash him yet!

I have nothing against bitcoin cash, but Roger isn’t the most likeable guy in the world, and for that reason, litecoin looks really good!

Every time I see him on TV he looks and sounds more and more petty.

I like the idea of Roger Ver. Its really for a good reason. Bitcoin is still the King!

Isn't Roger Ver on Steemit? Could of sworn he was. In fact I remember thinking he doesn't upvote much, being that he's fucking rich.
LOL I checked and he's getting made invisible by bernie sanders

You would think he would buy a little more steem power...

thanck you for the information!! Great Info!

Main problem with BTC is that under high load the network becomes totally useless... If Bitcoin Cash manage to become de facto contingency plan, then it has a future... Currently Ethereum is still the de facto contingency plan, but it can't handle high load either and usually becomes useless in within next few days after all exchanges shutdown BTC wallets.

Good point. I have nothing really against the idea of using BCH pairs, I just wish the guy would find a way to promote his coin without also feeling the need to bash others...

Every coin tries to be better than some other, but there is indeed fine line between bashing and trashing, and doing it properly. The code should be the one that makes the difference, not the words of developer(s).

wouldnt its better if a few more Roger in the ranks.

I hope there's more to the exchange than just having BCH pairs. I'll never use it myself.

I think there will be. It will be interesting to see if it catches on. If fees are lower and trades/transfers are faster, it sure might...
