In terms of interest in local community that may want to meet to talk, yes thats a challenge for most I think. But People with interest that is investing in cryptos online ther eis ALOT that is writing and interacting about this topic. Something im sure you have no issues finding here on steemit. I am and do take interest in it, but that is not my main reason for beeing on steemit as can be seen from my articles I write.
And if you are interested enought o want to travle to talk with others that are interested, then Anarcopoco in Mexico is a good place to look into, that Jeff Berwic of TDV (The Dollar Vigilante) is organising and promoting. Its a anarchist and crypto focused event.
When it comes to making money on steemit, thats a similar level of challenge regardless of how manny is using it and how manny with voting power. AS its more of a matter of writing stuff that others see value enough in to upvote, and if the once with voting power see it and find value in it. You might say its a game of attention, something every media venture is. (that have an negative effect on how it effects thinking unfortunattely)
Thank you for the suggestion. I will have a look after crypto events. I still do want to have a small group of people I can chat with online about ideas or new coins that are very interesting. It is a very big difference when you have colleagues you can talk to creatively, you can share new investments and interesting, undiscovered coins so they could tell their opinion about it. It brings alot of pros when you have a overseeable group of people you can chat with while working.
About steemit.. This article is already an hour out and you are most likely the only person that read the whole text. People who are interested in my idea are most likely not going to get to this article because you cant find it. You could see some new articles when searching through tags but there are so many articles coming in that you cant filter it. Only popular, new(where you have to get the peoples attention seconds after posting) and other filters where you cant find mine unless you scroll through hours..
And imagine how much more articles it whould be if more people used this platform. (Relating back to you saying too few use it) The bigger it gets the harder it is to "become someone" on it, same as it is for youtube users. The biggest ones on this platform is the once that alreaddy had a following on youtube or other platforms. Or have theyr own website that they have interaction on.
So like in any other situation, to get somewhere one needs to test the waters to gain experience, then to work your way through it. Everyone started somewhere. and Everyone cant be "on top", as then there wholdnt be a top ;)
