When Medicine Has No Boundaries

Changes are coming in medicine that are as great as in the banking sphere. Over the last quarter century, the healthcare industry has made a real breakthrough. As a result, implementation of things which seemed to be impossible at the end of 90-s have become a reality.

For example, telemedicine. One of the main tasks of telemedicine is to extend access of medical services and improve their quality with the help of information technologies. This is especially relevant for patients who can’t get medical care in hospitals. In the United States, more than half of states adopted laws are to promote telemedicine. As it’s known in the US, healthcare refers to one of the most advanced industries in the world. Citizen’s don’t have barriers for getting a consultation at a doctor. Much worse is the situation with healthcare in African countries such as Nigeria where it is hardly possible to buy aspirin, not to mention get a professional consultation in clinics. That explains why nowadays so much attention in the world is being paid to telemedicine or remote access to healthcare services.

The decentralized market of medical services in the world based on blockchain technologies has been created by WELL. Every client can get a consultation, remote diagnostics or cure preparation from every part of the world on a native language due to possibilities of telemedicine. It works in the following way: A patient sets up an application, for example, if he has skin problems he takes a photo and sends it to a doctor by means of this app. Then he answers the doctor’s questions and after that he can get a proper consultation. The remote way of communication gives the medical specialists the possibility to discuss the problem with their colleagues to make up the complete aspect of a disease.

All the messages, case records and medical prescriptions are confidential. Accounts in smart contracts are identified by address and not public key. In order for a smart contract to know the public key, a current transaction must be sent by that account. For that reason, public keys of the patients and doctors will be recorded in WELL smart contracts when users register for the system.

Using not only Video Interoperability but also such unique attributes of WELL platform as Clinical Care Pathway Optimization, Telehealth solution and Decentralized Storage by Blockchain would fundamentally change modern healthcare and result in lowering the barrier of contacting a physician. No limits! No boundaries! Save substantial healthcare costs and think your way into good health.
