Quiet Year In Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies
We know more about the moon and stars than what lies ahead in the future with Bitcoin, change will happen, how quickly no one knows.
Bitcoin bubble or boost: $30,000 – Bitcoin price prediction 2018 from a financial analyst (BTC Forecast News) -Sat Nov 10
Imran Wasim, a financial analyst at AMSYS Group, told News BTC he was far from downbeat, predicting cryptocurrency will become “more mainstream” in 2018.
Oliver von Landsberg-Sadie, the founder of cryptocurrency brokerage BitcoinBro, said bitcoin is simply experiencing “growing pains” as the marketplace matures.
My Thoughts:Bumpy ride to year end with slight up in price possible, slow growth going into the new year, well worth while watching and waiting Bitcoin is in throes of major adjustments by corporate, bankers and politicians taking notice during this year.
Tim Draper Stands by His Bitcoin Price Prediction of $250K in 2022
“Yes. We are talking [...] about five percent market share to get to $250,000. That seems like a drop in a bucket and all we need to really do is make it so that Bitcoin can be used to buy Starbucks coffee, and all of a sudden the world just opens up and then they say ‘I’ve got this choice.’ [...] Do I want a currency that I can take from country to country [...] or do I want one that sticks me in one country or one geographic area and I can’t use it anywhere else?”
“Cryptocurrency will go after trillion dollar markets — these are finance, healthcare and insurance, banking and investment banking, and governments.”
My Thoughts Plenty making predictions on growth, most feel the time of adjustment has been excellent for the market to adjust and rectify blatant errors made within the first 10 years of Bitcoin being on the market. This article presents some good ideas to ponder over, combining Bitcoin, Blockchain, Smart Contracts and AI artificial intelligence to create a perfect bureaucracy.
Half of richer, online South Africans want to buy cryptocurrencies – here’s what’s holding them back
A study into cryptocurrency adoption in SA found roughly three in four people who are online, and on the richer end of spectrum, are familiar with digital currencies.
Bitcoin remains the best known and most popular, with the likes of ripple lagging behind.
Half of respondents want to buy digital currencies but are held back by trust and security concerns.
My Thoughts Interest in South Africa is not lacking, scams, news blown out of all proportion have delayed interested parties becoming involved. Advice I always use for myself is if you have some Bitcoin, keep it safe, if you involved in cryptocurrencies and feel happy with where you are and why you invested keep supporting the crypto market. Keep learning and sharing new information to attract consumers, education is sorely lacking, the more discussions made to assist others before Bitcoin or Crypto does reach unattainable levels for the average person.
Quote for Today:
“Every informed person needs to know about Bitcoin because it might be one of the world’s most important developments.” —Leon Luow, Nobel Peace Prize nominee

I still hope it will grow, just step by step.
I think Bitcoin will grow more than the predicted price.

Wow, thanks for share
We keep holding and learning, personally I am happy the slowdown happened, it afforded everyone time to do more research @maryresp
Tim Drapers thoughts sound realistic. I think in the next few years Bitcoin will be a lot higher than it is now and I will hodl. Lots of other coins will go to zero
Whenever delving into new, always plan minimum of one year to five years allowing for times of adjustment, I agree some advice sounds good @ianstevenson
Even a "dof" old man like me can see the benefits of the Blockchain and sooner or later the big banks that are fighting it presently will also offer some kind of blockchain accounts to their clients. The security and ease of simple operations make blockchain so much more attractive! Blessings!
Still waiting to see when a coin will become truly global, affordable for daily transactions of low income earners who migrate and need to move coins to families at lower costs @papilloncharity
China just lifted their ban on cryptocurrencies and I know it's a big news for bitcoin to rise towards the end of this year
Once people understand the concept, many more countries will open up slowly.
I think that the use of the gold and or silver with a cryptocurrency will be the winner. Cryptocurrency as they are today I think are not much different then fiat currency and I do not have faith in them for the long run.
When gold backing fiat was removed was the beginning of the big downhill slide IMHO.
Personally I am not too sure gold or silver needs to back crypto, development into technology backing specific uses may be a good resolution to make crypto stable.
Watching bull/bear markets in metals is very much up and down like Bitcoin and crypto's.
well said ,But for the future,Who said it yes or no ?
Personally don't think it is ever going to go away @cloudblade
I will take the 250k price! I saw that article when I got up today and I would like it to be true.
I am the last person to predict financial furtures. I would not be in this at all if not for steemit, and I am grateful to have gotten the entrance.
I say we are too "centralized" in this decentralized game. A few big fish are on the top of every coin, from what I can tell. It needs to get to that mythical "I can buy a cup of coffee" phase with wide adoption. Then I think we will have something and I hope I am still in it to reap the benefit.
Tend to agree, too many focusing on how to gain off of the technology instead of focusing on how to make it easy to use as a daily currency. Living 3rd world one sees the necessity where massive banking fees have been implemented, making movement of any currency nearly impossible without attracting large costs.
Once bankers and governments realize they are not losing copious amounts to implement, the systems will start being trialed into markets. Problem is it needs to be global to overcome across border transactions.
Another 5 to 10 year waiting game, have sat out the first 3 years and still holding on to see who will make the next big prevalent move.
I hope someone (btc) moves soon. These low prices are killing me. I can actually live off this now with just a bit more of an increase. I tell this to people all the time in fb groups, but people are focused on the risk level right now. I hope that with some of the bigger institutional players coming in, wider adoption will follow.
The price of bitcoin is wonder me how it didn't follow the analysis that is coming from the back I think it want boom better than that
Patience with progress @bodymaual
Bitcoin price will not increase more than how it is now. But other crypto currency will receive boost in their prices.
Lots of movement still within crypto, interesting to see what develops @blogjeremiah
This make a lot of sense.
its going good
250k is Just Prediction and I don't think Bitcoin is going that far by 2022
Long term waiting game @orakzai
Great article!
Personally, all cryptocurrencies are still in their infancy, I think looking at it long-term, this is where either there is going to be considerable profit, or crashes, of course I think the latter is doubtful, i myself am in for the long haul, with a cashout plan in around 5 years depending on the markets.
I am a firm believer is taking on a couple of good projects, waiting to see how each one develops, jumping from coin/token to token/coin can make some small amounts, nothing like three years ago.
Many of us have lost in certain places, many of us will still fall prey to losing not gaining.
As always very informative @joanstewart, especially from a South African perspective this time.
IMHO:
Wherever the blockchain is going, it is not going away.
Visiting from @kryptonia
No technology never goes away, just takes time to become main stream, in the meantime watch crypto movements they are also good indicators, not just bitcoin.
hope for best 😊 love your presentaion ❤
Bitcoin will still remain it's just that market corrections will come along the way.
I hope better prices for criptocurrencies coins in the future.
I'm sure it will grow
I still feel that eclipse is not completed half way also or it is about to complete half part in around two to three months.
Wonderful work thanks
wow thanks for the lovely post
Good
Very true, I still pray everyday it rises
