August 2008 — Domain Bitcoin.org is registered anonymously
18 August 2008: The official Bitcoin website Bitcoin.org was registered by an anonymous person. The registration is protected by well-known privacy-protection service WhoisGuard and it is still unclear if Bitcoin inventor Satoshi Nakamoto is a person or a group of people.
November 2008 — The Bitcoin Whitepaper is published
January 2009 — Mining of the first block
And Satoshi Nakamoto sends a message with first block: ''Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks.''
January 2009 — First transaction
The first transaction in block 170 is sent from Satoshi to Hal Finney, a cryptographic enthusiast.
October 2009 — First Bitcoin / US-Dollar exchange rate
In October 2009 the first ever BTC/USD exchange rate was published at US$1 = 1,309.03 BTC,means 1 BTC for 0,00076 USD.
May 2010–One Pizza for 10.000 BTC
In May 18,2010: On the bitcointalk.org forum,the user named ''laszlo'' pays 10.000 BTC for pizza.

December 2013–The word ''HODL'' is born
User ''GameKyuubi'' blows off steem on the Bitcointalk forum because he doesn’t get the market timing right for buying/selling coins and making a profit. He subsequently concludes to ''HODL'' (for hold) his coins in the future to not fall victims to the votalitly of Bitcoin.

February 2014–MtGox looses 750.000 BTC
In a spectacular crash, Bitcoin exchange MtGox manages to loose 750.000 BTC , equivalent USD amount in November 2017: $6 Billion USD.
