I would appreciate if anyone can answer my question. If I trade using USD instead of ETH and BTC the value always remains same unlike BTC when it goes down value decreases? And with Hardware wallet, can I also store ALT coins? Thank you!

You can use Trezor hardware wallet for multiple coins.
Better to hold BTC and ETH as they have more utility than BTG so trading for USD is the best option.
