I Have to Admit This Bitcoin Space is the Most Entertaining One That I Have Ever Been Apart Of.
When Bitmain published their blogpost, "UAHF: A contingency plan against UASF (BIP148)" all I could think is, "here we go with another round of Bitcoin Bullshit and FUD". It is all quite entertaining for those who have been around a while. Sure every time a team steps up and wants to be the point of rage for the whole Crypto Currency community I am all for it. The pure entertainment value is priceless.
How it Looks When Devs Fight.
How Bitcoin Reacts to the Punch.
How Newbies React.
How Veteran Bitcoiners React.
How I React.
Strap In This is Going to Get Interesting.
I have been telling everyone that 2017 is not done with the Bitcoin surprises. Everyone thinks a moonshot is coming but I have been more tempered. Like I mentioned before, all it takes is a few stumbles to slow this high speed train to a much slower steam engine. This announcement by Bitmain is just one more reason to not get overly excited. I will not be putting any down payments on penthouses as of yet.
LOL Great perspective thru hilarous gif's. This is what a real free market looks like, sometimes extreme ups and downs.
Although the big holders may play this to their advantage, such as Satoshi with a million coins. Up or down, well informed investors can take positive advantage of these wild swings.
I read bitmain's blog and i got a headache. Bitcoin and blockchain is already quite difficult to comprehend for the average person much more Bip148 and segwits! How will people adapt something they dont understand?
They will adapt because it is better than their traditional system that they also don't understand.
Apologies for the typos, writing on a very tiny iphone screen. Anyway, yes it is an alternative albeit a better one. Not all who go into stocks or MF understand the folio or the financials behind them. Most people care only about how they are going to earn off it. Like with Steem, the potential for good money is there and that's what attracts people. But many dont understand that they either need hard consistent work.. or get lucky.
There's no immediate need to understand that traditional system though. It's just there. The more effort switching requires, the fewer will bother to do it as long as they don't have to...
Paradigm shifts are always difficult
True. That's why people need more reasons the greater the required effort is.
Panic sells everywhere...
Bwahahahaha!
Very nice post. It's a #1 topic today, and I don't know why some people are so scared! BTC will come back at full power... May take some time to happen, but it definitely will!
I'm the Veteran 😂😂😂😂
My mind is scrambled, so now I respond like the Joker.
Things go up and things go down. Many can see the trend of cryptocurrency going up despite the downs.
Cool Post :)
Good post! I agree that there is a lot happening that could keep the price suppressed, but it looks like some action is coming closer and when this means that Segwit gets activated, it could fuel the rocket to the moon. Segwit will hit Jihan by cutting of 30% of his mining power, so mining will become more decentralized again. Further the scaling issue will be partly resolved and 2nd layer solutions will arise. I just hold and hope.
Im sorry but I cant stop laughing especially when I know that it is TRUE! Awesome post bro :D
Those memes were perfect! Hahaha.
I freaked out and was a panic seller once, safe to say, I learned my lesson! I am happy to report to be making smarter decisions through price correction periods now.
You will get better at it. The best thing to do is always take profits and when they days come like this you just walk away from the computer.
Great advice, I just closed Poloniex haha.
You have a lot of reason dear friend @hilarski there is nothing more amused than the bitcoin, it is incredible how it yields its value two nights ago it came to $ 2988, when everything believed that the day before dawned u $ s 3000, fell to $ 2500 and Today it's 2250 dollars. Nothing more exciting, fun and raviante than le bitcoin
Thank you very much for sharing this material
have a beautiful day
Absolutely this is a wild ride!
Its been interesting for a while now! Resteemed and upvoted! Thanks for all the good work/content!
Very strange price movements today.. Not only Bitcoin, but all the altcoins are moving down in tandem.. Usually there is a fairly strong negative correlation between BTC and a basket of altcoin.
No trading for me today, I'm with you sipping coffee...
Get the popcorn ready, this is going to be interesting...
That is hilaious, you made my day haha!!!
My tolerance for volatility has gone way up since investing in bitcoin et al. While I do keep an eye on things obviously, I'm like "meh" most of the time now.
Absolutely it is similar to going to the gym. After a while you stop feeling pain and just keep getting stronger.
Oh, gym pain is real!
Very nice. Upvoted!
any idea @hilarski about where you see bitcoin in the end of 2017 ?
No idea, if it stayed here I would be happy.
Looks like some people want to manipulate the fiat market.
Does seem like it's a good time to pop some popcorn and sit back and watch... it amazes me how little it takes for people to freak out and enter "end of the world" mode...
A year ago I might have freaked out as well. Now, I might be a little poorer on the books but I know my life is what many dream about so I will not complain.
You know you're really used to it when your reaction is "where can I buy more, right now?"
Incidentally, if anyone knows...
To sell or not to sell... That is not the question.
HODL!
@hilarski started thinking in advance. What am I going to do when btc phases out?! I'm relatively newer to bitcoin, so reading everyone else's opinion only confuses me more. So far I've learned stay away from reddit, find the facts. What is BIP 148?
BIP 148 is a user activated softfork of Bitcoin. The Bitmain team apparently does not approve. There is plenty of info online explaining it. I am not that well versed in it.
I've read about it.

Hey man, how are you finding Panama? I am a relatively newly born consultant/entrepreneur/investor myself and really considering doing the expat experience the next year! So many great places to choice from though!
Anyways, this is the best show ever definitely! I keep calm and enjoy a nice coin shopping day, i mean, all those nice coins i was waiting for at 20% off :D
Panama is a life of chaos all around, until we arrive home. Then it feels like any home I have ever lived. It was the best decision I have ever made. Just be forewarned it is not easy for the first few years and after 6 I still struggle dealing with it sometimes.
HAahahah I laughed through the entire article!
Great post :)
Hahahaha! Hilarious but informative post. I'm just watching bitcoin.
I laughed, nice article!
certainly agree 2017 is not done with Bitcoin yet, but I do believe it's a gigantic bubble which will collapse some day. Think you should be considering this in the back of your mind when investing in bitcoins :)
Gigantic bubble the size of Twitter and Snapchats market cap? That is not so gigantic.
meep
As someone new to bitcoin and crypto, I have to admit I am very confused and concerned.
That is natural. Take profits and only risk what you can afford to lose.
So much to learn!!
The more currency volatility in the "real world", the more Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies will reap the rewards! And the opposite of that is true as well. Just keep an ear to the ground and more importantly, keep your head out of the clouds where unicorns and minotaurs roam!
The sky is falling!
Oh, wait...
Buy, buy, buy!
😄😇😄
I have no dry powder but those that do are in a great position.
One hundred percent agree. But it beats the dollar any day. I need to learn more about Panama.....
Drives me crazy but I would choose this place 100X over my former NY.
Ugh. Yes. We lived in the DC Bubble and got out as fast as we could! Livin' in Boise. It's nice here, but when 25,000 a year move it, it is changing. We talk often about Belize, Chile, CR, Argentina, Peru, just got to be a cheaper place to live with quality.
I have been to CR multiple times and like it but a little expensive. We went to Argentina and hated it. I hope to never return. Panama is an easy transition for Americans because it is highly influenced by US coporations.
I have faith in bitcoin it's going to more places in the near future don't you think?
I could put my picture on your orange banner and the exact description would work for met as well. Actually, your entire article is spot on as well. I've been telling my friends to buy crypto, but start with $100 and get your feet wet. Learn how to send money, take it offline, put it back on, etc.. then buy in dips and watch the daily news on the top crypto's. We are in such early phases that volatility is going to be big for another year. And yes, more interesting than a soap opera.
oh, and following you now.
Followed back!
There is so much drama. The fun is that the Bitcoin network does not care. No stops, no BATS declaring self help, no FED meeting to save all, but just pure market price discovery.
A Great Show.
In normal condition yes, all can colapse, but the crypto is under a lot o media, and a lot of capital will come in the market, if the demand is on, the coins will go up. How high not sure. Up and downs are normal, we have a game with no rules almost. So it will be a bumpy flight .
Hahaha love it. Time to buy big! Following.
Pls check out my blog thx !:)
great post @hilarski . I totally have Newbies React hahaha
Awesome analogies! It made me think about the panic decisions I once made not too long ago.
Experience makes you mature. I learned to befriend both change and time
:)
Haha! The meme of kermit the frog made my day. Thanks for sharing this @hilarski 😊!
