The FCA aims to protect consumers and oversees the financial markets in the UK, obtaining a license will allow Wirex to gain trust with its customers.

Dmitry Lazarichev, co-founder of Wirex, said:

"The license shows that the company is committed to pursuing and achieving the highest levels of diligence and integrity in its business operations. Wirex's submission to FCA's jurisdiction should leave no doubt to customers that Wirex will provide them with an unparalleled platform and support service. "

Pavel Matveev, the second founder, also commented on the event:

"Wirex is now using an FCA electronic money license to improve and refine its e-money services across the European Economic Area (EEA). Having our own license means increased efficiency and lower costs. "
