Newb Wades In: Ready to get pissed?
In case you missed it, There are 4054 Bitcoin being auctioned online via email bid, by US Marshalls on Feb. 18. Yes, $Millions worth.
Now, before you, like me, jump to the idea that Wow, a great opportunity to get a piece of Bitcoin, let's review the rules:
You gotta send them $200,000 to be able to bid. What???
There will be 4 lots: 2500 Bitcoin, 1500, 500, and 40.54069820. WTF?? The smallest lot , at just now's price would cost over $1/2 million!!
Ah, 'scuse me, but what happened to giving the little guy a chance?? Is the US Marshalls' motto: The rich get richer and the poor get children??
It's not like there's a lot of expense involved in holding an online auction, so why couldn't they have sold some smaller pieces of their forfeited loot??? MUCH smaller.
Who cares if the auction lasts for days?
Well, what good is a bitch piece without some suggested solution? No mucho. Seems like the more people who know about this Christmas present to the rich guys and banks, might spur somebody with some clout to make sure the next (Too late for this one, IMCO.) auction has some little thing for the average citizen. ...To keep us from getting pissed...
Waddaya think?
