Studies of the monetary aggregate are showing this. After selling off starting in December, recent numbers show that Bitcoin holders remained steady throughout the summer.
Bitcoin makes up more than half the total marketcap for cryptocurrencies.

It's crazy that 36% of bitcoin has been lost! but completely understandable I can just imagine lots of those coins being lost due to people not backing them up, or forgetting the password to their encrypted wallet.
ps. I think XLQ (alqo) will be a big thing, check them out.

The idea of all that lost bitcoin makes me sad
I believe the sell-off is not over. We must break down soon. I have mentioned all the reasons in my recent post.
However I'm very bullish on the long term.
