FYI only. Today I "participated" (not actually bought/sold crypto) on two separate Pump&Dump calls, I will not mention the groups but suffice it to say that there were huge - over 70k people involved. I wanted a better understanding of the sudden spikes on certain alts while researching coins for potential investment. A friend told me about it and I confirmed it today-this is how they do it.

When the signal is given through Telegram for example, the ones 'in' (probably the moderators) have already bought the coin at the shit price. The rest of the sheep starts buying blindly while getting pep rally messages. The ones who are 'in' quickly sell off within seconds, leaving everyone else holding the bagful of shitcoins. Needless to say that the whole sordid affair is a complete scam, counterproductive to the entire crypto community, and a disservice to people who may be confused by false spikes.
