Will Cryptocurrencies Make Governments and Central Banks Obsolete?

in #bitcoin7 years ago

I was just recently featured on a PressTV special mini-documentary with several other anarchists including Roger Ver, Jeffrey Tucker and Sterlin Luxan to talk about the technology behind bitcoin, as well as to respond to criticisms and attempts to manipulate public opinion about bitcoin from the likes of Jamie Demon and IMF Managing Director, Christine Lagarde.

One thing you may notice in this show is that the price of bitcoin is quoted as being in the $4000-6000 range. It just shows you just how quickly the cryptocurrency market moves - considering that the documentary was filmed about a month ago and as of today bitcoin is worth more than $8100!

In bitcoin or cryptocurrency, a lot can happen in just a few days time!

One of the nice things about this PressTV feature is how anti-government focused it was. It is quite rare that any program on television would allow such “extreme” and “radical” viewpoints as those of anarchists who are against violence and extortion being used against peaceful people.

I thought it turned out very well and is an excellent and informative news piece that both newbies and bitcoin veterans would enjoy.

You can see it here:

Roger Ver, Jeffrey Tucker, Sterlin Luxan, myself and hundreds more anarchists will be at Anarchapulco and Cryptopulco this February 15th - 18th. And stay afterward also for the TDV Internationalization & Investment Summit on February 19th.

Sort:

Definitely bringing us closer to anarchy. :)

Thank You , good pick me up words.

I feel better now

It will change the game. Resources will be distributed differently.

Cryptocurrencies definitely have the power to make governments and banks obsolete, but the power comes from the people. We have to be diligent in promoting decentralized systems.

when you promote, it's actually a vote! HA

I love this philosophy of "everyone being his own boss" but as long as we have governments and financial institutions whose bosses fund our governments, cryptographic currencies would remain an alternative means of payment. They'll gain adoption better as store of value

crypto will HELP...there are a great many other developing disruptive technologies that will assist in making large organizations obsolete.

Let's hope so... cheers!

Blockchain technology will certainly make them obsolete. I'm looking forward to see more innovations.

Did the Bitfinex Players read the EULA before ticking yes?

Gov are imho useful to provide a control system (police+military) and tax management. But I can't list any gov who do that efficiently and without corruption but I can list many govs who can maintain order and prevent chaos.

Govs will be imho and in a near futur merged and then replaced with (putted on) blockchain technology to increase the proximity/interaction of the managment unit and guaranty corruption free and very direct democracy. But it must come with descentralized healthcare and physical services along with the descentralization of media to avoid being able to corrupt too large opinions and education ABSOLUTELY SHOULD teach critical thinking to have independent (intelligent) people who can detect and correct issues.

WE DID UPVOTE THIS POST

This is just what we need to do , talk about it, share information like this. Thanks @dollarvigilante
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency will have its ups and downs, it’s a real market. Buy on the dips sell on the highs or just hold on, I have been a silver bug for years, pretty much new, maybe one year now of following crypto, but I know a good thing when I see it and this article gives the realistic world we live in, it’s funny how they talk about a crypto currency system that has no backing or accountability, really???
Pretty much what fractional banking is.
I know that you should invest in Gold and as I always say, especially silver.
But crypto isn’t going to crash, I see Bitcoin easily reaching 9000 in another month or two, if it hits 10000, it’s going to have a pullback and then head toward 15000 rather quickly, alt coins will follow, maybe not as fast but they will also go higher......they Dollar....will continue to lose value of the 3 cents it’s worth now.....what’s in your wallet??!!?!!

Will Cryptocurrencies Make Governments and Central Banks Obsolete? 99% likely!

Watching the vid now..

Isn't it obvious that banks and government's fear cryptocurrency?
I mean the US government makes it illegal for me to invest in ICOs. They won't let me send my money on something they deem imaginary.
Since when have they cared if I lost money in stocks our bonds?

I hope crypto makes banks obsolete. It is about time bankers get what they really deserve.

bitcoin is best...

I bet that the capital currency specially the Bitcoin well being the most acceptable currency in the world letter not just for every individual but also for the Government and it's very soon will be accepted by whole world as a digital currency

of course, this is great news and bitcoin holders in the big plus, that if frankly a little frightened by his rabid growth

Congrats on the feature, making waves. Is volatility good, that’s my biggest question?

Vote comment me

The presenter thought he was reading a real Warren Buffet tweet. Priceless! :D

I Upvoted, Follow post, you may pls same to my post

I sure hope so. I want to see the systems of control fall before I die.

If cryptocurrencies don't take over fiat, I'm quitting money.

It didn't happen till now. I don't what will happen in future, but the demand of cryptocurrency forced Indian government to launch its own digital coin named "Lakshmi". I have already written in one of my articles.

Most likely, Central Banks would have to give in to cryptocurrencies pretty soon and commercial banks would feel the pinch the most.

I hope they will make Central Banks and governments obsolete. This is the majority's chance to freedom!

No they won't. They'll only be an alternative to fiat

I really wish we could see the interview. provide us a like if you have access. Thanks

If the banks and governments are all owned and controlled by zionists like the rotchilds - do you think they wouldn't also own and control Bitcoin? - I strongly suspect they do and that's why it's going up, so I own some but I don't trust it an inch...

I've studied the code so no I don't believe it. Decentralized systems lead away from central control. However, I do expect them to try to put forward their replacement such as FedCoin or the SDR and continue to call bitcoin a fraud.

Zionists are always two steps ahead - that is how they came to own the entire world - why would Bitcoin be the exception?

Nobody is perfect. Read the code.

I can't read code - that is not my gig - but I can reseach zionists till the cows come home and my conclusion is that if it involves money or banks, then the rotchilds control every aspect of it...

I'm skeptical that Bitcoin would be the first thing they've missed in over 250 years - I'm not saying they invented it, but I'm pretty sure they own and control it now

My husband heard a conspiracy theory that the Chinese and Trump are working together to get Crypto the new accepted currency and to overthrow the banking system. It's a bit out there, as far as theories go, and I didn't listen to the video, but the guy apparently had a bunch of explanations as to why he thought this and what "proof" he had gathered and what not. I joked that maybe the Russians were also involved. I mean, who knows at this point. A theory is a theory and it's itneresting that this is out there and people are talking about it. Regardless whether any of it is true or not, the game is on, crypto is on the up, and banks are afraid.

I'm not opposed to the theory if it is true, if it means crypto becomes the new norm. I'm not alarmed byt he theory or freaked out by it either, which is a good sign, since usually theories freak me out. I'm amused by it, to say the least, that's for sure. Anything is possible.

Trump is a zionist puppet and the Chinese are making deals with the zionists - the chances of jacob rotchild not already having control of Bitcoin are not that great - I'm riding Bitcoin up but I'm not kidding myself that Bitcoin is for some future good - it's so I can make a shitload of $ and hopefully reinvest it in a currency that works against the new world order

I've heard about Zionism and there are theories about certain people herre in Quebec being Zionists and what not. I'm not as informed as my husband is, but he's keeping himself informed as well, just in case, just to know.

Yes Canada is zionist owned and run by one of the most obvious zionist puppets in the world...

That does not surprise me, somehow.

For the first time, I think there is a global alternative to standard currencies, therefore this could actually happen!!!

Thanks a lot Jeff and crew, I’ve been following your stuff now most of this year. Between you and Michael at Boxmining Daily, I’m well informed.
It’s always interesting to me when I hear Bitcoin being the key target in discussions about money laundering, trafficking, drug trade, etc. Sure it’s a means of financial backing but the people who run their mouths negatively about Bitcoin never tell us the alternative. These crimes didn’t start in ‘09 when BTC hit the market. These crimes have and will continue to be driven by paper currency. Bitcoin isn’t the bad guy, the bad guy is the bad guy.

Maybe it can. The biggest question will be:
How will government handle cryptos?
Restrictions? Illegal?
The technical restrictions - especially at bitcoin is also an issue. (e.g. Transaction speed)

Hey Jeff, I just watched your interview with Dan Dicks, and a few of your comments ex: "Sovereignty is a birth right" and the responsibility of guardians really caught my attention! I've drafted an 'Affirmation of Truth, Rights, and Responsibility' collaboratively over the last few years and it aligns with the views you express. Check it out! And if you agree, feel free to share it! Link to PDF is @ bottom of page in link if you have the time. It's only 1 page. And btw, ive got you to thank for 3x+ appreciation in EOS & DBET tokens! Also, I just started Allodium, a Sovereign Cooperative + Exchange, which is also on the site. Thx!

One love :)

They certainly have the potential, but it is in the end always about the masses in which direction they are pulled or rather if they will be grown up enough to make it through their life without a Papa State.

Ya,i agree and see as soon as possible.

I believe a new renaissance is coming, and crypto currencies will help lead the way. A great time to be alive.

I truly wish that crypto-currencies take the bank out of the equation... The banking system was never designed with the common man in mind.... It's time we overthrow that system
