Coinbase won't acknowledge the hardfork to bigger blocks on Aug 1. Which means you better get any coins out of there if you have them there.
I moved my Bitcoin off Coinbase yesterday to a paper wallet. Maybe that is the safest move? I don't know, but I didn't like seeing the big warning banner on my account :(
This isn't a hard fork. In the event of a hard fork ask them.
Segwit2x has a hard fork to 2MB blocks in Nov...I think that is what he is referring to. There is also a hard fork to unlimited blocks on Aug 1 (https://www.bitcoincash.org/) that will cause a chain split.
