Measuring by decline from peak, or days since ATH, this is worse than every decline in the last 6 years, except for the one after 2013 which took over a year to reach the bottom, saw a decline of 87% and took 3 years to recover.

It's been interesting to see what feels like an uptick in companies taking bitcoin just as the value of bitcoin has been plummeting. Maybe it's just me being more aware, or maybe it's an attempt to stabilize the currency? Maybe it was a deal determined a while back and announcing it now makes it feel like bad timing. I don't know. Just seems odd.
What uptick? Several of the largest companies using Bitcoin have dropped it such as Steam, Microsoft, Overstock and Dell. Transactions per day have been dropping since December, and largely flat since they hit the block size limit in 2016 (December managed to be higher due to increased hashrate and faster blocktimes, a necessarily temporary phenomenon).
Well, see, that's what I've been missing. Since I joined Steemit, most of what I read now is on Steemit, and a lot of that out of my feed. In the last week there's been the Crypto Cafe open and now a post about Squarecash buying and selling bitcoin. Obviously, there's a proportional news problem going on and I need to get out of my feed more!
No reason to panic. I think Bitcoin is outdated, but the valuable coins will catch up again.

I don't think so. I don't think Bitcoin (BTC) will ever break ATH again.
I hope Bitcoin can die off and let the rest of crypto continue to grow. Maybe that's optimistic.
At the very least we need clarity on Tether. Either a reputable audit or it collapses. Otherwise it's a dark cloud hovering over the whole ecosystem indefinitely.

There is no way the things will be alright .. In Asian market the same corruption happened long before.. The investor lost their money.. it has been 10 years we could not recover our lost.. They CEO withdraw all the money from the market just doing a simple trick.. he bought so many share and the price become increasing too first after that he just sold his share and the price of the share become decreasing..
$1000 dollar share become $20 dollar within a days hahaha

fist they showed up how the bitcoin price stood up regularly and insist the investor to invest the money in the crypoto currency market and generate unlimited saving for u... now when everyone intend to invest their money ,the value of the bitcoin become decreasing haha we fool lose our money,.. They CEO withdraw the money from the market and become world top rich man lol.. seriously people lost their hard money.. This is absolute corruption
