Agreed, that's for sure. However, if you do some research and not just buy blindly there are some ICO's that are backed by big companies and those are the ones to jump into with both feet.
Agree you have to do your Due diligence on a ico
So is life. That's why usually the people with the most money are the people who have risked the most.
Can you name 5? And i mean real scams, not just lousy projects!
@cryptotraderx I think that is pretty much true for most new(ish) ventures, kinda like the wild west. As it regulates its self more, it will reduce the likelihood of scams. Besides the projects that just failed and are referred to as scams.
Yes ma'am, thats the thing that worries me...especially being new to cryptocurrencies and not really knowing a lot.
If you do your research well, it will be a way riskier move. Also you should join as many communities as you can, so you hear about the best ones. When a lot of people research on the same topic, you tend to gain more accurate information about an upcoming ICO.
I agree with you, a lot of smart Blockchain-Technology Entrepreneur now leverage on ICO's as a quick means to raise money offering mere over-valued promises to investors.
I am very curious to see the actual numbers because I have heard of many many crooked projects using public and private funding through traditional methods like IPO's, crowdfunding, etc. I dont have any data to back this claim up, but I don't think there is much more scammers with ICO's than there are using the traditional system. If anything I would assume that the crypto community online is actually slightly more educated and skeptical when it comes to these things so the rate may actually be lower with ICO's than IPO's and scammers who convince private investors out of money for start ups.
Moral of the story is that its always risky when youre giving someone that you dont know to well your money, hence why it shouldn't be 100% about the money when you invest. Invest in a better world and lets elevate each other.
