RE: Exchanges Kraken, Coinbase, Gdax and Poloniex Repeatedly Overloaded During Big Price Movements

in #bitcoin7 years ago (edited)

It's truly getting old, especially with the few that love to use the good old "we got hacked trick" and then disappear. This is why I'm ordering a hardware wallet, I want to have full control over my coins and not be dependent on wether or not someone can keep their services running.

Also everyone should check out the minnow support! It's here to help us small guys grow!!

I have voiced my concern many times on various forums about the problems with exchanges. They are so conveniently time to screw everyone that it just screams that it's some sort of collusion scam. Poloniex is the worst when it comes to this. A few weeks back, before they announced problems with limit orders, I used a limit order to sell my burst as it was spiking. Once my order triggered, my coins sold and all my BTC disappeared. I made a support ticket and mods told me it should resolve within 48 hours. Of course, since my limit order triggered and was sold I expected to get my BTC when the issue was resolved. Instead Bologna-ex held the coins for 36 hours, then reissued me burst coins instead of the BTC. And of course burst coins were now 30% lower than they were when I sold mine. That support ticket is still open with no reply for 6+ weeks. They lag with 5k people the same they lag with 62k people now. They claim DDOS every time there is some sort of huge sell off. They colluded with the DAO hackers and made it possible for it to happen. They pumped all the coins that they recently delisted 1 week before they announced the delisting, then dropping them on poor peoples heads.

Yesterday Coinbase goes down while BTC is dropping insanely. Forcing people to eat losses.

I'm sick of this shit, and I have been gaining more and more bitcoin and the more I get the more I worry about what both of these sites hold in the future. Best of luck to everyone.
