Request Network has recently had a massive pump over the New Year's Holiday. The pump was, for me, well overdue. A solid token that has just released it's testnet, and yet still doing significantly worse in the markets than something like OMG, which has a massive market cap considering they have released no technical demos of their product. The pump was certainly overdue. However, I have discovered something else: Request Network could possibly be added to Coinbase in the future.
Where do I base my wild claims? Well, firstly, let's take a look at the actual technology of REQ. It is designed to be a payment platform where you can send and receive any cryptocurrency or fiat currency you want. Their testnet demo platform is already released, and this quarter they will release their mainnet. This alone will be huge, and make it one of the top cryptos. It would likely be added on Coinbase based off of it's own merit. However, there is something else I discovered.
YCombinator, the company that funds startups such as Twitch, Reddit, and AirBnB, also funded REQ. In addition, they also funded the startup of Coinbase, one of the world's largest crypto exchanges. However, Coinbase is very selective on what coins they choose to add to their site. In my opinion, the fact that YCombinator owns both Coinbase and REQ means that future collaboration is almost guaranteed.
