The value of bitcoin continued to skyrocket this weekend, exploding to $9,000 for the first time in the history of the cryptocurrency.
The price of Bitcoin jumped Saturday night above 9,000 dollars and stood at $9,139 (+4.28%), according to data from the CoinDesk Digital Currency Information Site. This value rises roughly to £7,000 in the UK and to A$12,365 in Australia.
The summit is even higher
The market capitalization of Bitcoin, i. e. the value of all the bitcoins generated worldwide, now stands at nearly $153 billion. A considerable increase compared to 2016.
Cryptocurrency experienced a significant rise in 2017. On January 1 of this year, the price of bitcoin was just under $1,000. However, the value of Bitcoin is extremely volatile and exposed to a crash.
Bitcoin speculators nevertheless believe that growth is not over yet. Hedge fund manager Mike Novogratz predicted earlier last week that Bitcoin would reach $10,000 this year. Thomas Lee de Fundstrat doubled his target price to $11,500 by mid-2018.
Katsunori Sago, Investment Director of Japan Post Bank, says the increase is staggering. A price of Bitcoin around $100 would be more appropriate and balanced.
fascinating stuff this Bitcoin is. I finally broke down and caved in and bought some earlier this year. I'm happy now.
Do I think there will be corrections - oh yes! but I'm to the point that even a 50% correction in price and I'm still ahead.
Do I think the price will go even higher and set new highs in 2018? Oh yes, the awareness and acceptance of Bitcoin and friends is growing exponentially and as it grows it drives the demand and the price higher and higher!
and the end is nowhere in sight yet.

I am optimistic too. $11,500 prediction is more than modest. It was $700 a year ago and now over $9000, so you can get around 14 times more $US than just a year ago for the same amount of bitcoins. One more such year and every bitcoin will be worth: $ 126 000.00. Even this prediction is modest.
9700$ today. At this pace, it might reach 12 000$ before the end of the year
First thanks for the follow which I am more than happy to reciprocate. I've seen some forecasts that predict bitcoin could go all the way up to 15K early next year. Of course it's a bubble that will eventually burst but I've taken out over 5 times as much out as I've paid in and I'm still way ahead with the coins I still hold. If the price dropped to pennies I couldn't complain but I don't think it will. Fingers crossed, but it's been a hell of a ride so far lol
