Bitcoin Bubble?

in #bitcoin7 years ago (edited)

Bitcoin has been extremely viotale during the past year. The problem I have with investing more into bitcoin is that there seems to be a shift occurring.

Bitcoin itself has turned into a top brand name for crypto market. The problem is that bitcoin is no longer the most efficient in payment times and transaction cost. The problem is that investors are buying bitcoin because of the insane price growth this year, which never ends well.

Outside investors are not buying the technology, they are buying the price growth of bitcoin. This is why futures for bitcoin are being traded on CME now. This is one of the final steps that lead to an incoming crash, in this case bitcoin as we know it will be decimated. Bitcoin may not start to fall for sometime and may experience slight increases, but the key to this is the shifting opportunity cost.

As bitcoin futures are being listed and traded there are more outside investors that are becoming interested in the whole cryptocurrency market. This will lead to even more investment in alt coins, this is already being seen. What will happen is these alt coins will continue to steadily rise in price, while bitcoin may increase slightly, but slower than what we have seen this year. When these two factors come to a certain point, there will be a panic to sell portions of bitcoin holdings for a higher stake in upcoming coins.

This will all happen at once so the best idea is to slowly sell some bitcoin every week, so when the price starts to drop and the exchanges are unable to handle the transactions you will be prepared.

Yes, I notice that bitcoin is starting to increase slower than before, due to larger market cap.
