Nakamoto's Whitepaper Publication

in #bitcoin6 years ago

These days, it's almost unthinkable to get a blockchain project off the ground without some 30+ page PDF whitepaper. The practice is of course modeled after Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto's foundational document, outlining the purpose and function of the first and still most valued cryptocurrency.

Now, we can finally own a physical copy of the document created in 2008, published in a new book "The White Paper" along with a guide by Jaya Klara Brekke, introduction by James Bridle, and edited by Ben Vickers.

James Bridle’s introduction situates Bitcoin within an obscure historical movement of decentralisation, powered by the ideologies of encryption, showing how blockchain is part of a wider project to redraw the maps of political possibility. The White Paper returns to Nakamoto’s canonical text as a Rosetta Stone that reveals the far-reaching implications of decentralisation, with crypto-economist Jaya Klara Brekke’s guide demonstrating how it can serve as the compass for a rapidly shifting terrain of contemporary techno-politics.
