Opera browser may not be the most popular web browser but it is definitely one with a lot of features.

If I'm being totally transparent about it, I've been using it for a long time now and it's actually pretty good.

With the amount of features it offers and it's compatability across platforms, this browser is something you should definitely check out. Especially, the latest version Opera 50.

Why?

Well, it offers an integrated anti-Bitcoin mining feature. Which is really dope.

Enabling this feature will block the mining of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies such as Litecoin and Ethereum.

Why is it important now?

You may not be aware but some websites are hijacking your computers to mine for cryptocurrencies. You may not notice it right away but this will negatively impact your computers performance and is obviously a breach of trust.

Opera has catered to this issue and is the first web browser to come up with anti-mining feature.

While browsing, If you stumble upon a website which is secretly running scripts for mining, enabling this anti-mining feature will block these scripts and dramatically reduce the CPU usage. This will keep your machines at peace and increase battery life if you're into laptops.

If you want to check out the feature for yourself you can go ahead and download the official beta release. I would recommend you to wait for a few days to download a more stable version.

Thank you for your time.
