Bitcoin Segwit payments are on steady rise and this month we have achieved rate at almost 40%. More and more Bitcoin companies are implementing Segwit and I believe that until the end of this year we will have majority of Segwit transactions.
At https://transactionfee.info/charts/payments/segwit we can see Segwit payments progress.
With Segwit payments rising, Bitcoin network transaction fees are dropping and yesterday I have send 1 BTC for only 0.17$.

Bitcoin is developing constantly and I hope that Steve Wozniak is right and Bitcoin will become global internet currency.

In the LN, I can send for 0.0001 cent(i think i overpaid...) which is freakin sweet. Just 17 cent to deposit my Bitcoin in the LN and now i enjoy cheap fees :)

I haven't done a lot BTC transactions yet to be honest, but $0.17 seems an incredible small amount, compared to those days around the infamous Dec/Jan. Thumbs up! Like you I guess, there will be a lot movement in the end of this year. Crypto!!! :)

It is the leading currency on the internet and the rise of other internet currencies is dependent on bitcoin. I pray for a massive rise of Bitcoin soon.
Bitcoin can become the global currency in the future if they continue with their development to reduce the transaction cost of using Bitcoin , then more companies and financier organisation will implement it for their daily business transaction . I hope and I pray that someday Bitcoin will become the global currency of choice @cicbar

Is there any other advantage of Segwit @cicbar ?
Segwit leads to 0con tx aka the LN and leads to more segwit tech to be built on top of it. Mast+Schoor+others leads to more efficient blocks thus avoiding the need to inc blocksize.
Segwit is opening LN implementation and LN is crucial for Bitcoin mainstream acceptance.
The way bitcoin is adopted i think in the near future bitcoin will become the leading internet currency .. hope for the best
