Agreed. But from what I've read both sides of the bitcoin dispute have their own coin proposals. Assuming that either party changes their mind a split will occur and the path has already been cleared for the transition to happen smoothly. I dont like to see exchanges selling coins that dont exist but if its the only way to create an easy transition and keep the peace then so be it. Lets hope for a fork without a bitcoin split.
AFAIK Bitcoin Cash's most recent version DOES have replay protection.

Can't wait for that DASH update. This is the coin with the most potential to make it to mass usage.
Bitman surely playing politics behing viaBTC wanted more control over via Bitcoin Cash. Recently BCC have implemented replay and wipeout protection which is stated in their offical website https://www.bitcoincash.org @boxmining. I personally do not support this BCC. Let's see what happens on 1st august hoping for the best to happen.
It's been only about two months now that I've become obsessed with crypto and block chain technology. I've come in at a very interesting time.
